Butch, I posted this message in the forum of The Foundation website (http://www.foundation300.com/), what do you think about gambling in professional bowling?

When will all of you people realize that bowling is a business, trying to be profitable. Proprietors don't want good bowlers because all they do is complain about lefties, complain about crankers, complain about stokers, complain about league rules, complain about prize money, complain about conditions etc........... The PBA is completely run by the bowling ball manufacturers. I have heard stories about staff members having ball reps change the surface of their ball in the middle of games!! They do whatever they can to get their staffer on TV and try to sell the next great technology ball. You can't blame the PBA for bowing down to these companies because where the hell else are they going to get money for the bowlers to make a living. I guarantee that Walter Ray Williams will have a monster spring/summer because that's what Brunswick wants and the PBA will do anything to make Brunswick happy. My solution to the bowling woes: Add gambling to the PBA. Allow spectators to buy brackets, bet on matches etc... There will be so much money involved that the PBA will be forced to make lane conditions brutal. An independent agency will have to be created in order to regulate lane conditions, bowling balls and surfaces, this agency will have sanctions so they cannot be swayed by corporate sponsors. Ratings of the PBA will skyrocket. There will be renewed interest in the SPORT of bowling, PBA members will become some of the richest people in the world causing the youth of america to want to bowl. Aspiring pros will demand the same lane conditions in league competition so that they are better prepared to compete on tour. At the same time the millions of dollars in extra revenue the PBA will earn, can be used to sanction local leagues removing the failing, flopping, farce of an organization called the American Bowling Congress out of the picture completely, never again being allowed to corrupt the sport we love. The PBA has got to have the "Balls" to make this happen. Start in Vegas, Reno, Atlantic City, Indian Reservations, and branch out. It is the only way..............................
